Graphic Website Design

One of the great things about website design is the ability to merge art with what is often viewed as a technical chore. Even websites that are used strictly for business purposes can have a visually appealing face. Many people don't think of this when planning out their companies website. Viewing it as a phone book advertisement, or business card, it can be easy to pigeon hole your business website into a drab form of advertisement.

There's no rule stating that business websites can't be visually appealing. In fact, I believe quite the opposite.

Every website I design is approached from an artistic standpoint. While many of them are simple and business like, none of them are given any restrictions when it comes to visual representation. I think even the most brick and mortar websites should be fun in some respect as well as easy on the eyes. While I agree there are certain situations where this isn't applicable, for the most part, theres always room for some improvement visually.

You'll see a lot of companies completely separate website design and graphic design, but I view them as very similar aspects of one goal. After all, aren't websites designed to attract visitors and keep their attention? This can prove very difficult if there is nothing appealing about the site they're viewing.
